Smartschools and Microsoft host education technology conference for ETBs and Trusts
Education experts and IT leaders from ETBs and Trusts across Ireland joined Smartschools – part of Capita plc, and Microsoft last week for Inspire, a conference for Ireland’s education sector leaders’. Inspire was hosted by Smartshcools in partnership with Microsoft, held at the new Microsoft HQ campus in Leopardstown, Dublin, it showcased some of the world’s leading educational technology.
Inspire provided ETBs and Trusts with the opportunity to discover how technology in teaching and learning is achieving better educational outcomes as part of digital transformation programmes.
Delegates heard from influential speakers including Shirley Finnerty from Microsoft and John O'Donnell from Galway & Roscommon ETB (GRETB) who shared his experience of the new consolidated IT service to schools and colleges within GRETB. Corinne Latham, Principal of Seaview Primary School and leading educationalist, provided first-hand best-practice examples of how a consolidated IT service, under the C2k contract, supports teaching staff to implement technology that enables them to focus on innovative teaching and learning practices.
The conference included a technology partner exhibition area with suppliers of leading and innovative education software technology showcasing their products, exhibitors included SIMS, Reading Cloud, Planet eStream, Learning Possibilities and Senso. Cloud.
